My HA has gotten to be pretty message, and cleaning it up has proven to be tedious. I have a few quality of life suggestions that I think would be super helpful.

Entities List

Minor enhancements

Table Updates

  • Adding a column for last updated would be very useful for identifying stale entities.

Row Updates

  • Add control to link to directly to settings.
  • While it may be redundant, including state information would be very helpful here as well. Attributes might be overkill, but it could be handled by a tooltip or drawer if deemed valuable.

Filter Updates

  • Keep filter options open until user dismisses.
  • Show active filters instead of “X entities now shown [CLEAR]”
  • Add filters for the following:
    • Integration
      • I have a few integrations which have an obscene amount of entities (Google WiFi). Filtering these out would make the page much more manageable
    • Area
      • Filtering by area (or no area) would be super helpful for assigning unassigned entities to areas as well as moving around things as they change.
    • Last updated
      • This would go hand-in-hand with the update mentioned above. Example usage would be “Show entities with updated more than X time ago”.

Major enhancements

Bulk actions

It would be useful to bulk updating entities. I’m sure this would conflict with entity and integration settings, and would be pretty tricky. If a user could update my entity assignments, icons, etc, it would save a ton of time in maintenance.

Consolidate some developer tools and the entity list.

Entities, States, and Statistics are all different flavors of the same thing. Consolidating that information into a single view, while information dense, could make things quite a bit easier to manage.

Scenes

Minor enhancements

Include entity information in summary view

Drilling down into each scene is a bit tedious. Surfacing the entities included in a scene would be a nice timesaver.

Hope you find this helpful. If you need help putting screens together, let me know!

Cheers,
Nik

Thanks for the suggestions! Will give a proper response tomorrow. It’s night time on this side of the pond.

Looks good! We have been working on updating data tables and some of your suggestions had been looked into recently.

Consolidate some developer tools and the entity list.

I've been playing with the same idea and discussing it with some developers. They disagree because the purpose of both pages is different. I think some of the information about developer tools will be interesting for non-developers too. Although some features are actually developer tools.

I think it evolved to its current state because it is not clear what the purpose of these pages is. Let's come up with some user stories, can you help us with that?

For example, only use case I have personally for the entiteis table.
As an admin,
I want to hide multiple entities
so that these aren't shown on my default dashboard.
