Best software to walk around house including installed switches into HA

Following the instructions in the silicon labs zwave usb data sheet (https://www.silabs.com/documents/public/user-guides/ug516-uzb-7-users-guide.pdf) I installed Simplicty Studio for Windows. And the z-wave pc controller utility in particular. There are alot of knobs to twist, but so far it seems to be allowing me to add more devices. But is this the best way?
