I have google nest. Commissioning thread matter device with Android phone with google nest works seemlessly. I have already homepod in my shopping card and will try it as soon as possible.

PS: the only problem is that android currently support only one border router and you have to remove play serverices to setup new border router 😄 pretty painful

I have no experience with the Google system. And if you are a user of Google solutions, I don't see the point in buying a homepod. Exchanging keys/credentials between routers from different manufacturers is a bumpy road. In my case, a solution based on openthread and nRF52840 worked very well. In the last test version of the iOS application, it was possible to create one thread network based on Apple and openthread routers

I was slowly changing my devices from google to apple in the last year. I started to experiment with matter over thread on Google system and now I have all devices from apple except smart speaker
