well, ok - i know too little of what you try to accomplish and / or have already done to really be of much help here.
but i think they key is to to create that helper, expose it to google home and then create an automation.
that automation would fire when the helper is switched on and do two things:

  • your script
  • reset itself to the off state

Thanks for getting back to me I ended up creating a 2nd script to turn off the lights when the toggle turns off
