yes
sorry about that
i have to apparently make my HA url secure
or voice assistance won't have access to the mic 😦
It will. Just not in the browser
If you use a satellite or the companion app, it works
hmm ok i can try the app on my phone
oh wait i can't
the mic is plugged in locally to the laptop
i'm going to have to set up a satellite anyway if i want this downstairs for my grandma
You will use the mic on the phone as a second satellite
the app on the phone has the same error about it not being secure
there should be an override option
?! Native app or in the browser?
when i click the app icon on my phone
let me make sure it's not a shortcut but i did install the app from the store i remember
nope it's definitely the app
Weird. That shouldn't happen with the app
It has nothing to do with HA. Browser security policies prevent sensitive resources like mic and camera from being exposed over unsecured http connections
oh really? didn't know that until now
maybe i could adjust the policy on the browser then
installing letsencrypt on the HA install and then seeing if i can get this to work locally
actually nevermind that
was looking at this: https://community.home-assistant.io/t/connecting-to-ha-locally-using-https/566441/11
it's based on running it in a docker container which i'm not
