#P7 Flashed with R7 FW
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
@aleks I was not able to flash the device over serial to unbrick it, I was however able to use J-Link and reflash to get the module back to the P7 FW and functional.
I doubt you have access to a J-Link but at least we know it's not bricked completely. any chance you have any contacts near you who may have one?
Hm I dont think so. I have some firmware extractors like a buspirate, can that be used to push the firmware in?
It does support jTag with openocd, I found this as well using a PI which may work:
the rPi method may be easier, but the bus pirate looks like a similar proceedure, they have some guides for using it with Openocd. I think you'd want to combine what is there with what is in the pi setup (minus the pi pin part) as the cfg for the cc26xx would be the same I think.
Alright I will do a test
The only P version of the firmware is
CC1352P7_coordinator is that correct? Sounds very strange with 1352. Have many bricked cause of this issue?
Correct:
You said you flashed the R which is the issue. I did this and replicated exactly what you were seeing. And only way I recovered was doing a cJ-tag flash
Openocd doesn’t support cJTag
But does support the 4 wire full JTag. And all the pins needed are exposed on the edge of the zigbee module. They are labeled on the underside. Prob easier to pull the module for the olimex.
I dont have a pi right here, but I have a GodFet 42. Never used it before, but I think it support jtag. Can you confirm if it looks like this can flas it directly? https://goodfet.sourceforge.net/hardware/goodfet42/ https://goodfet.sourceforge.net/
I poked around there and honestly can't say before. I've only worked with Segger J-Link adaptors. the edu-mini (which is what I used to reflash the P7 that I had flashed with the R7 FW) and ones built into the SiLabs developer kits.
I will check. I dont really have a flashing setup here at home. I have some devices from weird ebay purcases I never used before, but never used them so a lot of thinkering. I would wish it was more clear on the site about the version to not flash as it was confusing what to flash especially since the correct one is named cc1352
I'll ship you a new module. I do take some responsibility as it wasn't clear. I'm not sure if it is worth sending back the existing module but If you want to try I can give you my address.
