Yet to read the log but the reason subsequent attempts fail is likely the device is no longer in pairing mode

I don't have aidots, but I do have nanoleaf and the reset process is similar and it has a relatively short pairing window

Often that error is related to network settings outside of HA; in the pinned posts there's some info related to mDNS settings that id suggest checking if you haven't already

oh nice. thanks for the tips. i can get by the not being able to find the device by factory resetting the device. the big problem is getting to connect to ha and getting the "something went wrong" error.

interestingly if i just wait a few a refresh the devices list, the device and entity show up.

it would never become available though.

what seemed to help was going to the matter integration and hitting the "add entry" and then submitting with the "use the official matter server supervisor add-on" checked. it reloads the config or something.

then i reset the bulb, restarted matter server, added the bulb and it still errored in the ha app but the device showed up and was available 🤷‍♂️

not a fun experience but on the correct track atm

Are you running the release version or the beta version?

its the integration says "Matter (BETA)" on it

In configuration for the addon there should be a toggle for latest beta version that's presumably off

Depends on how adventurous you are. You could try the beta version (recommendation is also to use HA beta in conjunction) or to wait for the full release on Wednesday.

The latest version is a big bump to matter 1.2 which MIGHT help some things

But since you had a mDNS errors its likely on your network hardware

i have all my matter devices unplugged/unavailable atm to move them outside. is it ok to rename the device and entities while they are in that state or should i wait till they are connected again?

I would wait until they are reconnected

i guess doing the "add entry" thing disconnects all of your other devices?

This entity is no longer being provided by the matter integration. If the entity is no longer in use, delete it in settings.

also i unplugged my only connected bulb and its showning still conneted after like 15m

its also weird that i cant delete any of the matter devices that say they are no longer provided by matter integration.

ok i just restarted ha and it looks like they are connected now. guess im glad it wasnt letting me delete them 😅
