I had a lot of other issues too, possibly all related to the Dream Machine, which is just a complete disaster. Had the UDM Pro and the UDM SE but both have so many issues like AP's randomly dissapearing, cameras stop working and all other crap and on top of that the mess with mdns. I just gave up out of anger. I'm not alone on this. Many people complain about the instability of the UDM platform.

Before the UDM, I had the Unifi AP's, switches and the gateway and it was rock stable, all the time.

Ok, yes, I understand that. When I read about the issues from all the guys in the release posts, I don’t feel that I have a professional solution. They really have to change something essentially with their quality control.

Did you use the switch of the UDM-Pro instead of a dedicated switch?

I went all in on UniFi before the dream pro (I say all in, but I can cover my house with 2 aps 🤪 and 3 switches and a gw)

I know from homekit (the original sort of http with fancy encryption version not the thread version) that lots and lots of unifi people had homekit mdns woes

#

But it’s always been fine for me

#

But had other people that have had to fiddle with IGMP (some need it on some need it off)

#

Don’t get why it should be like that

#

I sort of regret not going openwrt the way the control panel is going

Oh

I also have esps that can’t hold a stable wifi connection to unifi
