Yes, we are working on a full configuration UI for Matter devices. We're currently in the design stage and then we'll implement it step by step.
This is the gist of our wish list:

  • Make commissioning of devices overall easier.
  • Allow commissioning of shared/bridged devices without the companion app.
  • Allow commissioning of devices without the companion app if the HA server has a bluetooth adapter present.
  • Better discovery of new devices
  • Diagnostic information for Matter devices, such as node id, ipv6 address and in case of a Thread device: link to its thread network.
  • Helpers/utilitities such as ping a device, re-interview and fabric management.
