@dark sand since I saw you post in Dim's thread - have you seen something like this before? HAOS would be nice but my pi is running a few other services so ideally it's managed from a container

if it happens on two separate devices on your network, I suspect something on the network, or network settings?

when you use the bridge config 8123:8123 you get through the onboarding?

yeah it gets through the onboarding fine, i can create an account and can access the ui. however the device discovery cannot find anything on my network. I'm leaning toward it being a network problem, since I had a working home assistant setup at an old apartment that didn't have these issues

when you use the bridge config 8123:8123 you get through the onboarding?

on the above ^ i'm just replacing network_mode with a ports entry in the compose file if this is what you mean

Hey quick update - as soon as I spun up the container as root the issues went away

Yes when you use the specific ports that would be a bridge mode I think.
Now I have heard of something similar and will remember "running as root?" 😄
