Hi all. I've recently bought a HA Yellow and am trying to install a CM4 without eMMC and a Lenovo/Samsung nVMe SSD. I have setup a couple of HA Yellow devices before for friends, when the OS went onto the eMMC part of the CM4 and I can follow the guide etc. On this one, I installed the CM4 (I believe it's seated ok) as I can get past the initial part of the install and the red/green lights are on. I connect via USB but the SSD isn't visible to install onto. So I've also tried with a USB install onto a USB stick into the top USB top and following the guide, that also never works either (the yellow light never comes on). I know these types of nVMe SSDs work (Lenovo badged Samsung 256Gb) as I have one already on another HA Yellow, so I don't think its that. Is there a way I am supposed to "prep" the SSD in a windows/mac first? I have a USB connector so can do this. Any help would be much appreciated. I've read through the tips and guides and don't believe it's anything from those, so i'm a but stuck. I read that the USB method should work and go directly into the SSD if there is no eMMC as in my case? thank you

Some CM4 need a firmware update, before they accept the NVMe. Also a not correctly seated CM4 could cause this.
You can flash the Yellow version of HAOS (not the RPi4 one) directly to the NVMe with a USB adapter
Thanks @compact quiver I had seen that the firmware tends to show via soem flashing sequences I don't but I hadn't realised the NVMe can be flashed directly - so i'll try that. thank you
