Hi, i have a bug, where i changed the entity names, because i used a different device for a month, but now i want to change it back, but i cannot do that, because the old data will be lost...what can i do to prevent that? Also the older data before i changed the device for a month also got lost somehow or not? What should i look for?
#Problem with using a different solar panel inverters

I'm still lost, because the old entity i used for 1 month i removed, it only shows up in the energy section, not in the developer tools.
It won't be a problem if the data is removed, but the old data from the original entity's must remain, because it's now the same entity again.
What version of HA are you running?
Home Assistant 2023.8.4, Supervisor 2023.08.1, Operating System 10.5
Also the 4th option isn't working here: https://gist.github.com/langestefan/acbf7e42b15b302e9aacc08663039e57#4-my-energy-dashboard-shows-a-weird-spike-of-x-kwh-how-can-i-correct-it
I want to correct the data, because it registered the solar panels as consumers and produces negative kWh
We are still working on question 4 because it's a complex issue
You can try going to dev tools and statistics and adjust the sum there
I'm getting this rn, i included the old entities and the new ones (that i used for a month).
I used the old one today and i got negative values, but i can't find it in the statistics.
the new one was used for about 15:30, when i changed it back to the old one.
Now it's working, but i still want to remove yesterdays huge negative solar production value, how can i do that inside the developer tools?
you can add a positive value to compensate the negative one
Thanks for the tip! It worked, but i still don't know where did that spike came from. 😦
Negative spikes are usually something to do with wrong reset timing
It's a bit complicated to explain
Oh, ok so it's a HA internal software problem, not with the device that is measuring the energy.
it's a mixture of both
