I have been tasked with using just one rtl-sdr dongle to capture sensor data on two different frequencies - 433M and 915M. 433M frequency will be used to capture contact/motion sensors and 915M frequency for water meter. I had two dongles doing this job earlier by using two separate programs rtl_433 and rtl_amr, passing data to HA through MQTT, no issues here. Now, if i have only one dongle, i want to alternate between these programs at set time period but haven't found any cleaner solution to actually do it. Any suggestions?
I have already tried alternating frequencies in rtl_433 at set interval, but no vail. Rtl_433 works fine if i listen on just 1 frequency - e.g. i get regular feed from my water meter in every 2 mins at 915M frequency. As soon as i start switching frequencies, the feed becomes erratic. I want to get water meter feed every hr for 3 mins span and switch to 433M to listen to other devices for rest of the 57 mins.

you could save the timestamp of the last time you received water data, and then switch to that frequency again one hour later +- a window of some seconds

Thanks for your input. Is there any add-on which can switch between rtl amr and 433 add-ons?
