What flash drive? The SSD? Are you sure it is NVMe? Because even the physical form factor is the same, your SSD may not be using NVMe protocol.

If the CM4 doesn't have storage on it you'll need a hard drive, yeah.

There cm4 has emmc 16 gb so not sure why the yellow led does not go off
