#Thanks but that would require some

Open your Home Assistant instance and show your state developer tools
Thanks, I can see them in states but what I'm trying to do is to set an automation so that when the switch has switched to a certain input, then to do an automation.
Hope I'm making sense
I can't copy paste my screenshot here for some reason
Please use imgur or other image sharing web sites, and share the link here.
Image posting is blocked in most channels to discourage people from sharing text as images. Sharing text as images assumes that everybody sees the world as you do, which isn't the case. Some people are colour blind, or have visual impairment that means they can't make sense of an image of text.
Ok, so ... #automations-archived can help with automations, but it sounds like a state trigger is all you need
the problem is that, HA doesn't see these part of the attributes as any trigger
Does it actually show the selected source though, or just list all the possible ones?
in the new automation, it doesn't give me that section of attributes in the dropdown menu
but if I go to the actual device and select the source, it will successfully send the command to the TV
here, what I mean --> https://imgur.com/Rp3VA6q
if I do it there, it will send the command to the TV
but the output of this doesn't go to any sensor or any output that I can catch, hope I'm making sense here ๐
