when i first ran "hass" it said something about not having any config and generating one in .homeassistant
and it has to know what python packages to install in what way somehow
i doubt that that is hardcoded?
Ah
The config is hardcoded
The packages come from the requirements
Each integration then has their own requirements on top
IMO using Docker is the simplest solution to your problem
using the docker now it greys stuff out when clicking more during the onboarding (cannot post screenshots here) and just stays that way
You are running the official image, and not one from LSIO or other?
The only reason things should fail would be if:
- You're not using the official container image
- It can't write to the config folder
- You've got an ad-blocker screwing things up, or are using Firefox
i am using firefox :D
thank you so much for your time
still doesn't work
ghcr.io/home-assistant/home-assistant:stable is the docker im running

Try Chrome
just skipped it - what would it have added?
Skipped what? Trying Chrome? Going from a browser known to have issues with HA's UI to one known to work?
