The devices push the data, you can't poll them as they're almost always in deep sleep.

How does pressing “identify” in home assistant work then?

(It does seem to work.. if i do it, the LED on the battery devices flashes almost instantly)

Main reason for asking is that my battery powered devices (mostly iris IL07 devices) seem to be killing batteries much faster in recent months than historically and I’m trying to figure out what changed

(Have tried several different battery brands, doesn’t seem to matter. Batteries that used to last >1 year are now dead in 2-6 weeks)

I'd assume that those have support for being woken remotely, like Z-Wave's FLiR
