This is bloating and out of topic, so I do this in a thread instead...

You are right. I am (not sarcastically) over reacting. I probably read too much into it.

You (as in "you guys" have only shared reasoning on why it didn't work. The problem I had was that I didn't follow the documentation, but to my defense the dependency system did not help when it should. It did fail on Python 3.9, but not on 3.11. But -- as you said it is fixed now.

And the working on debian thingy: as far as all hints I've seen goes HA relies on Debian, so I would somewhat expect it to support the mainline version. That said, it does work now and Debian probably bumped Python after 2023.2.5 came out.

From my point of view we're all fine now. I just want to get on with getting this HA thing configured now.
