Hi ๐Ÿ‘‹!
Do you have your project file and an ETS license?

frigid grove
#

I have none of that

#

The previous owners knew nothing about the knx config

#

It just worked for them

outer hill
#

That's bad. Maybe try to find the installer and require the files from them

frigid grove
#

they went out of business

outer hill
#

Ouch

frigid grove
#

from your comments im guessing is not as simple as reconfiguring

#

or connecting the IP interface and just setting up home assistant

outer hill
#

Reconfiguring is one possibility.

#

You'll probably going to need additional addresses or some adjustments. You can't do that without the project.

#

Is it a big installation?

frigid grove
#

3 floors, lights, AC, Heater automated windows

#

im not sure what Big means for you but, probably 50+ devices

#

im trying to learm a bit about KNX on the internet, but there is not a lot.

#

im guessing being all propitary means i need to buy a book or training material

outer hill
#

50 isn't huge. I think ETS Home license is up to 64 devices (or 100? Not sure)

#

Are you German?

frigid grove
#

Spanish

outer hill
#

Ok, then I can't recommend you done books ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

frigid grove
#

๐Ÿ˜…

#

im going to try to talk to the previouse owners to see if i can get the files

outer hill
#

๐Ÿ‘ good luck!

frigid grove
#

is there a way to view the knxproject files without ETS?

#

like read only

outer hill
#

Not really.

#

I mean, there are project parsers, but the output is not intended for humans to read. If you are familiar with Python you could have a look at https://github.com/XKNX/xknxproject. This would yield a dict.

#

Did you get the files?
