#How many Zigbee routers do you have

Only 1 on the main floor ~10m from one of the temperature sensors

knotty lion

That's ... quite far

#

You can typically expect about 6 to 8 meters between devices

clear crescent
#

I see, so you'd suggest to add at least another router to the mix, right?

I'll give it a shot by putting the sensor closer to the router too

knotty lion
#

Yeah, a single router on an entire floor isn't going to cut it unless that floor is just one room that's not much more than 8 meters across

clear crescent
#

I see, thanks. Do the other routers need to be of the same brand/model?

knotty lion
#

No

clear crescent
#

Any model you'd recommend more than others?

knotty lion
#

Innr are good, but your choices do depend on your country

clear crescent
#

Interesting, do you mean availability per country? Or anything else?

knotty lion
#

Well, a plug that works in a UK socket won't work in an Australian socket

clear crescent
#

Ofc... Just wanted to make sure I didn't overlook something else :). Thanks

Hello. Last night I moved one of the sensor at 50cm to the Zigbee receiver and paired it again. After a few hours, it dropped again 🤔 ..

knotty lion
#

What is the make and model of the sensor?

clear crescent
#

SONOFF SNZB-02

knotty lion
#

Ah ... yes...

#

Well, the bad news is that this is totally normal behaviour for the Sonoff sensors

clear crescent
#

😬

clear crescent
#

Any sensor you'd recommend? I guess the problem isn't really the bridge here

#

Innr as well?

knotty lion
#

Short answer, I'm very happy with my Xiaomi devices - more so with the Zigbee 3.0 versions (E1/P1/T1), but all of them work fine for me. Linkind also do some nice motion and leak sensors, Frient/Develco do a nice multi-sensor (called the "mini") and 3reality do some good stuff too.

#

I have no Innr sensors, I have many of their plugs - all work well

clear crescent
#

Great, thanks. I didn't see the Xiaomi zigbee sensors so I'll look into this

#

Ah that's awesome resource, thanks for putting this together

#

Ah ok, xiaomi sensors seems to be branded as "Aqara"

knotty lion
#

and some are Mijia

clear crescent
#

OK I see. In your Github page you mention the Aqara as Zigbee v1.2, have you seen v3 releases?

knotty lion
#

I'm guessing you skipped right over:

  1. My comment above
  2. The whole section in my GitHub titled Zigbee 3.0
#

Xiaomi devices - more so with the Zigbee 3.0 versions (E1/P1/T1),

clear crescent
#

Ah sorry yes, I was focused on the Aqara range

knotty lion
#

Xiaomi is the brand

clear crescent
#

Yes I got mislead by

Xiaomi Aqara temperature sensor Temperature and humidity
⏸️ These are pretty good, they report regularly enough to be useful and are reliable. Hopefully we'll get a Zigbee 3.0 version soon.

knotty lion
#

You're looking for the E1/T1/P1 range

clear crescent
knotty lion
#

That's not E1 or T1 or P1, so ... not Zigbee 3.0

#

Look at the model number

clear crescent
#

As I mentioned, I cannot find temp sensors labelled within this range 🙂

knotty lion
#

Hopefully we'll get a Zigbee 3.0 version soon

#

At the time I wrote that there wasn't a Zigbee 3.0 version

#

Probably there still isn't, but even if there is as I said on that page getting the Zigbee 3.0 stuff outside of China is hard

clear crescent
#

OK, seems different than what the Aqara website says though
