Ok the switch type is set to "Toggle Switch - Set Shelly device to be "Toggle" switch. Act as a flip switch with one state for "ON" and one state for "OFF"."

Also I believe this behaviour is unique to the 1Ls I have in the house. (not confirmed, but a hunch).

Actually I think I figured it out. I switched it to "Edge" and now it seems to be working since the physical switch is a contact switch (not a flip switch)

Hmm…I had the same problem with my 1PMs and that did the trick
