You are possibly limited to forwarding 8123 to 8123, based on that

That one suggests you can forward 443 externally to 8123 on HA

Whatever tutorial you're following either was written by somebody that didn't know what they're doing, or didn't say what you think it did

I have another question: Why is it recommended to use influx DB with homeassistant?
Home assistant has it's own database already installed.
I can't seem to find any tutorial on using Grafana without also using influx db.
If I have to use influx DB, can I import my data from homeassistant?

If you want to use Grafana, InfluxDB is a better choice than SQLite 😉
