Size of dev-tools?

Am I the only one who thinks it would be great if the dev-tools/template tab was a bit more configurable, or perhaps scale better?
I often handle long templates and think it would be great to be able to choose how much of my available screen to use for it, as well as where the result is displayed (over/under/sides). Perhaps it's a feature request, but before that is created, would anyone else also think this would be good to have?
