#Pressing the soft reset presence sensor
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I'm having this same issue, but only in the last week or two. At first I thought it was picking up my PC's fans somehow as I recently updated it, but I've moved it to a place where the PC isn't visible and I'm having the same issue
I can use the reset_nopresence_status option to fix it, but it kinda defeats the purpose if the device doesn't detect non-presence
Glad to hear its not just me!
@tawdry thunder I have a live situation with one of my sensors now. It picked me up entering the bathroom for my shower, and presence was detected 44 mins ago.
I can see in the logbook the Away event was triggered 21 minutes ago, but the device never cleared.

So it is still reporting. I've just hit the reset button, and nothing. The last seen hasn't updated, and presence isn't being cleared
That last seen value updating at all?
I forget if LQI (link quality) of 255 is good or bad. But the RSSI (signal strength of -55 is good)
My LQI is 255 also. Seems like an unused value 🤷♂️
If that last seen value isn’t updating its 100% brain dead.

My last seen value is still updating, but my occupancy has been in detected state now for 2 hours. I've power cycled it 3 times and still won't reset
Weird.
Bad hardware maybe?
Some reflective surface messing with the mmWave?
I don't think so. After entering and leaving the room it randomly started working again.
This one is in a bathroom, so wondering if it could be moisture/humidity having an effect.
