Let's continue this discussion in a thread

round brook
#

hey

blissful scroll
#

pip install git+https://github.com/zigpy/zigpy-cli.git is all you need then

#

Make sure to disable your Zigbee integration

round brook
#

no pip

#

its the HAOS command line

blissful scroll
#

You aren't in the HA Docker container then

round brook
#

core-ssh

blissful scroll
#

docker exec -it homeassistant /bin/bash gets you into the HA Docker container

round brook
#

so I have swapped my main wifi to channel 1 and the other to 11, so no local wiofis chould be interfering

blissful scroll
#

WiFi isn't the only thing that interferes

round brook
#

docker command not found

blissful scroll
#

You are using the wrong SSH addon then ๐Ÿ˜†

round brook
#

yes

#

you want shell

#

one sec

blissful scroll
#

You want the SSH & Web Terminal addon with protection mode disabled. There are two. One doesn't give you access to Docker.

round brook
#

adding

#

ok starting

#

it wont start ?

#

restarting HA

blissful scroll
#

What won't?

round brook
#

ssh anf web terminal

#

SSH & Web Terminal
Add-on is not running. Please start it first

#

but it says it started

blissful scroll
#

Did you configure your SSH public key?

round brook
#

?

#

I have been using the other ssh fine ?

blissful scroll
#

In the addon configuration

round brook
#

ok in

#

syntax has changed ALOT

blissful scroll
#

?

round brook
#

authorized_keys:
- AASDJKJKJFWJFAFLCNALCMLAK234234.....

#

nothing like

#

authorized_keys:
- ssh-rsa AASDJKJKJFWJFAFLCNALCMLAK234234.....

blissful scroll
#

It should start with ssh-something

#

It's a SSH public key

round brook
#

nahhh doesnt need it

#

running pip install git+https://github.com/zigpy/zigpy-cli.git

#

ok done

#

didnt work depreciation error

blissful scroll
#

You're going to have to provide more context here

#

"Didn't work" doesn't mean much ๐Ÿ˜†

round brook
blissful scroll
#

It worked fine

round brook
#

ok

#

so command shoudl be

#

zigpy radio znp /dev/cu.usbserial-1420 energy-scan

blissful scroll
#

Not quite. The /dev/ path is one you fill out. Run ls -l /dev/serial/by-id/

#

And use /dev/serial/by-id/the-long-id-for-your-stick as the /dev/ path

round brook
#

zigpy radio znp /dev/usb-ITead_Sonoff_ZigBee_3.0_USB_Dongle_Plus_404924d76b99ec11817408c944d80d13-if00-port0

blissful scroll
#

No, it would be /dev/serial/by-id/usb-ITead...

#

Or just /dev/ttyUSB0

round brook
#

LMAO

#

zigpy radio znp /dev/ttyUSB0 energy-scan

blissful scroll
#

How many devices are on your network?

round brook
#

not that many, but could be neighbors

blissful scroll
#

Any routers? Or just sensors?

round brook
#

1 wifi router and 1 repeater

blissful scroll
#

I mean Zigbee

round brook
#

on zigbee ?

blissful scroll
#

Channel 15 isn't looking very good

round brook
#

ahhhh 14 devices 1 cordinator 4 routers and the rest battery temps

#

and door sensors

blissful scroll
#

I think you should try channel 20. Run zigpy radio znp /dev/ttyUSB0 change-channel -c 20 and it'll change the channel.

round brook
#

shoudl I change my wifi router to something else

blissful scroll
#

If you can do that, sure. Keep running the energy scan and move your WiFi network to channel 11

#

You should see the big lump on Zigbee channels 11-15 disappear

round brook
#

wow

#

that has made a huge drop

blissful scroll
#

That might be better. If not, see if you can move both WiFi networks to channel 1

#

And then 20 or 25 might clear up more

#

But if moving WiFi to 11 is enough, you can just leave it at that

round brook
#

11,12,13,14 are under 10

blissful scroll
#

You generally want to stay away from Zigbee channels other than 15, 20, and 25

#

For maximum density, WiFi routers usually try to pick WiFi channels 1, 6, or 11

#

The only Zigbee channels that fall between them are 15, 20, 25 (and 26)

round brook
#

the upper end is awash with next door nieghbors wifi

#

I think the massive spike I had has moved to the other end now 20+ onwards

#

ok lets see how the zigbee does

blissful scroll
#

You should be able at this point to just ctrl-c to stop the scan and re-enable your integration

round brook
#

yep done

#

now its a case of wait, or can I force a refresh ?

blissful scroll
#

It should immediately be obvious

#

Zigbee doesn't know about WiFi, it just sees that the channel is very noisy

round brook
#

hmmm hue light is not getting seen

#

I am guessing the mesh needs to rebuild

blissful scroll
#

It shouldn't

#

You CTRL-C'd and stopped the CLI tools, right?

round brook
#

terminated the ssh

blissful scroll
#

Is ZHA actually running? Can you control any device?

round brook
#

yes

#

cisualisation shows everything near enought connected to everything, but this is usually misleading

#

as its not real time, as its just what the device has connected to in the pasty

blissful scroll
#

The visualization isn't showing actual connections, it's showing what sees what

#

And is refreshed every four hours

round brook
#

I have two router s26 power sockets lieterall 10 ft apart

#

one works, the other wont

blissful scroll
#

Unplug both of them and plug them back in

round brook
#

done

#

became unavailable

#

wont connect to the stupid router that is 10 ft away

#

it did start workinf perfectly on sunday no issues then mon and today just decided not to link

#

I purposely have one s26 socket at the back of the house, so it can travel the 10 ft to the room below it

#

this si why I ask if there is any way to force it into a rebuild of the mesh

#

and btw thanks for all this help

#

nope not playing at all

#

will go down and tinker
