Ah found it - I appreciate you wouldn't go near with a shitty stick! But perhaps lastly, it's already set to 'No cache' does that make it unlikely to be the issue? Thanks

well, that means that there is no caching going on at all, which could hurt performance

could also improve performance

Try "Writeback"

#

and see if there is a difference in performance

makes no difference, that just presents spinning rust as ssd for software that requires ssd I guess
