#HA Nabu Casa and SSL

Here's the message I'm talking about in the settings
Local communication unavailable
Google devices will not be able to talk locally with Home Assistant because you have configured an SSL certificate for your HTTP integration. Learn more
A couple other notes - I have DNS managed internally where my instance has the same address internally and externally. I also have a valid certificate for the instance using Lets Encrypt - there's a bunch of talk in the "Learn more" that states that in order to use local devices you must use HTTP. What happens if you use a valid SSL certificate for your HA instance - will the local mode still work?
