#I m having issues with HA that I think

Here is the workaround I used for installation, but does not allow connections for addons:

network update ETH0 --ipv4-nameserver 1.1.1.1 (I dont think this one actually does anything)

login

nmcli con edit "Supervisor eth0"

remove ipv4.dns

set ipv4.dns 1.1.1.1

set ipv4.ignore-auto-dns yes

save

quit

exit

host restart

#

This series of commands then let the domains reslove for installation to complete, but then when I go to do an add-on, it gives me an error due to no host internet.

If I do:

set ipv4-ignore-auto-dns no

Then I dont get the "no host internet" issue but I get error 500 due to timeout and the installation of add-ons stilld oesnt go through

#

I tried manually setting my router DNS to 1.1.1.1 and backup 8.8.8.8, but that didnt change anything. When do "network info" it says the DNS is 10.0.0.1 (the router's IP) so I thought the root of the problem may be in the router, but I cannot find anything that might be it

if you set dns servers on the pi itself it doesn't matter what your router has

#

try set ipv4.dns 9.9.9.9

Isn't that what I already did? I mean I used 1.1.1.1, but I already tried manually doing it. I tried it both in the HA cli and the # cli (not sure what it is called).

Changing it allowed a successful install, but does not allow the HA to get updates. I tried doing all the above steps again just in case the installation process changed something

I've seen some have issues with CF's 1.1.1.1, so I was suggesting a different one

glossy summit
#

I see, I will try that

graceful crater
#

using nmcli and not the ha cli. I know ha cli is preferred

glossy summit
#

I will redo all the above steps I used in installation, try it, and then try the ignore autondns no setting.

I remember doing something with disabling ipv6 but can't recall if it ever made any difference

#

With the 9.9.9.9 it won't update due to the no host internet still, but the weather widget was updated.

So, I'm trying the "ignore-auto-dns no" thing which originally shifted it from "no host internet" to the timeout error where it would actually try

#

Sadly no dice there either

#

500 server error, client.Timeout exceeded while awaiting headers

graceful crater
#

using ignore auto you are then including the router's dns

#

can you stop using that immediately afterwards? it defeats the purpose

glossy summit
#

Okay, I put that back on. With the ipv4.ignore-auto-dns yes when I'm on the HA cli and do network info I get "host_internwt: false" and "supervisor_internet: true"

That might be obvious, or not, I really don't know

graceful crater
#

ok and this is after a reboot of the host?

glossy summit
#

Yes

graceful crater
#

what does entering only nmcli show for the connection at the top and dns at the bottom of the last page

glossy summit
#

I wish I could add pics to make sure I did the right thing

nmcli

eth0: connected to Supervisor ethics

I don't see it say dns anywhere when I do the nmcli command

graceful crater
#

it's probably on the next page. hit the space bar

#

it's the last entry of info

glossy summit
#

There wasn't more than one page. Right above Use nmcli device show is

lo:unmanaged
Lo loopback unknown

graceful crater
#

where are you at with this install? new?

#

you might just reflash the OS and start fresh

glossy summit
#

Brand new install. Had these issues on my first install so I tried again, same thing, then I tried the docker version and same thing.

For some reason I can't get past this on my Pi

But I'm certainly willing to try again.

#

Does 64 bit vs 32 bit matter?

I'm on a 3b

graceful crater
#

I'd stick with 64

#

though the 3b won't be able to take full advantage

#

You might also restart your network

#

router/modem

glossy summit
#

New install with rebooted modem and router is giving me can't clone xxxxx Could not resolve host

And then later the 500 server error

So I'll do the workaround again and maybe it will work after install? Not looking good though

glossy summit
#

Well, new installation has the same issue on the addon :(

#

I connected to my Hotspot for fun to see if I could install add-ons. No, at least, not with ethernet still connected. But interestingly it had enough connection see there was an OS update available

#

So it seems OS updates will go over my Hotspot even with the ethernet still connected, but add-ons will not. I just updated the OS that way (I purposely installed 9.1), but add-ons won't go

#

When I connected to my Hotspot and ran the nmcli then I DO get the DNS line showing, it shows for my wlan0 and the dns is my phone
