zigbee2mqtt unofficial, not supported, however it did work for me, migration thread 😉
So what I did is I installed the SSH addon (this helped me a bit.
I come from a zstacks (TI devboard 26x2R).
I made sure that the configuration.yaml of zigbee2mqtt was valid and it held the right pan_id, channel and network key.
Then I basically made a safety copy (via ssh) of the database.db inside the z2m folder and copied over the old database backup.
After that I was able to start the z2m and it immediately recognized all the devices.
BUT it wasn't able to communicate with them yet. They needed to be repaired. So I just switched to the z2m frontend page and selected the network to permit all to join.
After this I did a dirty trick somebody will disapprove of, but it worked. I just went to the z2m frontend page, visited the "map" and refreshed the map.
This kind of forces all devices to communicate and rebind.
@sturdy ridge let me know how it worked for you
Hi, has not quite worked for me, part of the devices is now in the ZHA, only the door contacts had to be re-paired. Let's see how I now switch to Z2M.
