Hello. I just upgraded to .110.6 and I have a couple UI issues.
I'm using Kalkih's (not on discord apparently) mini-media-player-bundle. All the buttons are not showing. They are there and work, but are "hidden"
Also, I have three switches that use MDI icons. They used to light up like the other standard ones. Now they don't. Functionality is fine, but the icons don't light.
These are obviously all UI related things, so I am thinking that I missed something in the breaking news of one of the interim releases.
Any insight would be appreciated.

As far as the mini media player card, updating it should fix it
Regarding the switches not changing color (presumably when turned on), make sure state_color: true is set in the card config
(that was a breaking change a few versions ago)

I believe it started after upgrading to 0.110.6. as you can see from here: https://snipboard.io/wGq2fr.jpg, it is not limited to one lovelace, or one view. Those still happen even after I cleared browser cache, rebooted the computer. Is this a known issue?

i upgraded to 0.110.6 around the same time as I enabled the zha-map-visualization-card. but i doubt that card could affect the loading of other pages such as configuration

I'm trying to add a second sensor to a history graph card and it's not stacking the two on the same graph within the card. It looks like it's due to the unit of measure being different when it's rendering the card but I thought I'd specified the same unit for the new sensor. You can see from the image (http://prntscr.com/sxcz2p) that the degrees symbol is bigger for the second one.
The DOM shows °C for the first graph and ºC for the second one. If I check the state of each sensor, they both show °C.
D'oh... I just noticed the tiniest sliver of a blue line on the top graph. Looks like it's working but hasn't had enough time to be noticeable yet

Looking for advice to be able to use two subnets with HomeAssistant. I have my cameras segregate on a separate network for bandwidth reasons. I have Win machine with two ethernet cards for testing and if successful plan to move to PI4 and add a second wired ethernet to it. HASS.IO doesn't seem to get it done. Supervisor seems to not be favored. Anyone else done this?

i have tried to make a custom card in home assistant but am getting errors constantly.
what have I done?
- downloaded the js file and put it in config / www

in settings> lovelace dashboard> resources and set it to javascript module - in the front end I have chosen manual and entered this:

Great. So the file itself works... it'll either be that Chrome can't understand it (not likely) or your browser cache in Chrome is wonky. Clear your cache for HA in Chrome and try again.

I am trying to load a card that I created from a yaml file into lovelace for one particular view. Is that possible when I normally use the GUI. I tried opening the Raw config and adding a include under that view but I get the error "Unable to parse YAML: YAMLException: unknown tag !<!include>.."

Ive tried that but it gives a huge amount of clear space, and if I make the with of the card smaller (about the size of the toggle button) the button disappears because it keeps the the space where the name and icon are 😦
Oh and you can disable smart quotes on a phone if you want, that's what I did so I can edit yaml on my phone too 😉

For example, I have a samsung smart plug (zigbee) which when added via deCONZ adds as a "light." So the call commands are like "light.on, light.off" etc, and then google home interprets it as a light fixture and groups it with lights in the google home app. I'd like to change the domain to a switch or plug

So I registered the card I am trying to use with the URL /local/power-wheel-card.js?v=1, but when I try to refer to type: custom:power-wheel-card in a dashboard it says the type does not exist

Hello everyone, I'm a neophyte to Home Assistant as I am trying to learn and migrate away from Homeseer that I have used for years. Thus I am trying to take things slowly and learn something new each day.
I am currently trying to decide the best way to organize my devices. I used "Rooms" before and now I believe that would be "groups" and possibly "views". It seems that "views" are no longer handled in the groups.yaml file. Using the gui and the "Raw Configuration Editor" I found the "views:" I created... Now I have opened every file I can find and I cannot easily find the "views"?? I would have thought there would be a views.yaml file? or a file that contained the code I see on the "Raw Configuration Editor", but I cannot find this code??

It seems one of the things I am learning about HA is that its constantly evolving as an Open Source solution. I have to say that's a Pro and a Con as I'm learning that many of the videos / tutorials I am finding on YouTube and forums are "out-of-date".
I have played with "cards"... I had envisioned a control panel in each room.
The default display for that panel would be that rooms "devices" as well as buttons for each of the other rooms available. If I was in the Master Bedroom and wanted to control the "Outside Lights", then I would push the button for "Outside" and the display would change to show that locations devices. When done, press Home and the default for that room displays again.
So I have been reading and watching and trying to determine how this could be done with HA.

I am currently running HA on a NUC that has Windows 10 Pro. I used VirtualBox to create a VM. I'm using "Home Assistant Core 0.110.7" . I have created a DuckDNS and am able to access system from outside. I have also followed the steps to create a custom "skill" for Alexa and can now ask Alexa to control HA devices. I played around with one option to be able to switch themes as well. I created a new "Main" .... ahhh.. is it callled "panel"? since "Overview" is a mess of everything...
Well that's it for me tonight... Thanks to all that so quickly responded.
I did find a way to create a button that executes a URL to the new view... not elegant as the complete display jumps and switches vs the "frame"...

It looks like a timestamp issue; but I dipped into the database for states and see that the timestamps are correct with time zone and all. Do all the timestamps in the DB look correct? both graphs seemed to correct themselves for the latest data point. Where as older ones do not look correct.

That's a #templates-archived . And no, you can't - the Python stuff it uses always seems to use English instead of your local language.
Someone in #templates-archived might be able to find you an alternate but it won't be as neat.

Is there a way to not have the UI editor for automations, scripts, helpers, etc., remove comments in our custom yaml files? I had a file with a lot of comments, then created a new automation in the UI so it could write the yaml for me, and when I saved it, it completely reformmated my automations.yaml file and removed all commenting. 😩 Is there a way to have it leave the commenting intact? Otherwise, it's an either/or proposition with editing with the UI. You're left guessing what you did if you look at the yaml file.

However, if a logged in user changes the URL in the browser to a different user's url, it shows their view after re-logging in.
Can this be prevented?
e.g. login as user1 and user1's overview is shown (/lovelace/user1), change the browser url to /lovelace/user2, re-login as user 1, and user2's overview is shown.

After a lengthy restart the same error persists. The addons are greyed out and cannot be started, because their images cannot be found. Maybe I can restart the pull process manually.
The error seems to be solved. A "docker pull imagename " fixes the missing images. This might indicate that a "re-pull all images" might be a worthwhile feature.
But if I am the only one who ever encountered this error...

I'm trying to use a different card configuration on mobile and desktop and the only way that I've found to do that is to use the state-switch custom card and differentiate based on deviceID. Is there a way to do it based on useragent?
It seems like all the info is available in custom-header and browser_mod, but I can't figure out how to put it all together. Or if it's even possible

so its been about year since i really did much with HA, but is it still not possible to simply list a bunch of entity attributes on a card? Now what you can do is to make a template sensor based on an attribute (ask in #integrations-archived for help with this) and use that new sensor's state in your frontend.

Do you need them to be in hass? Otherwise there are lots of color pickers online.
If you want the value returned to hass, you could probably make a template light, and use the set_color option to write the value to a sensor or whatever.

Is there an integrated card / way to control the tilting of covers? So far I only get the up/down/stop icons.
I can as secondary_info display the tilt position though, so it's correctly read back at least from the cover. But now way to control it.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask... I was told I should just use lovelace to develop control panels that I would display on Samsun Tablets in each room. So I am trying... I cannot seem to find a simple way to display in large letters or definable fonts etc. the date, day of the week and time in what I would guess is called a "card"? I'm new, so I would need directions that do not "assume" I know what I'm doing. I have found a few that say, just do this and then put this and under resources: and ... but don't even say what file to place this is or where to put the information etc. They all seem to assume readers are seasoned veterans of Home Assistant. I just figured someone must have figured out and have good instructions on how to add a date, day of week, and time card that can be sized so its readable from a distance. Reading now how to apply CSS styling to lovelace...
My biggest fear is that I'll find a how too, only to learn its out of date and not compatible or there's a much easier way with the latest rev of HA.
I did find an addon that lets me create Custom Panels and it was real easy to create the date and time block, but that's when someone said the latest way to create theses user panels is to just use lovelace.
