There are multiple "Picture" options on that page (on the rigth side).
They serve different purposes, where piture-elements are the one that will give you most custom posibilities.
You need to figure out what you want before anyone can help you 😉

@rocky merlin nice gauges. Does the gauge for the cpu load 'scale' dynamically? I just wonder, as you have 0.0-1.0 and the load doesn't have a fixed range as from 0-1 or so.

@half cradle Using picture-elements I was able to just grab a screenshot of my Roku remote from my phone and overlay transparent images on the buttons to have a really nice looking remote with very little design effort on my part

@half cradle I've been playing with it for about a week now. It's pretty well designed and easy to use. There are also a lot of custom cards out there that people have made for edge cases

Onto serious discussion: I'm experimenting with a custom card which displays other cards in automatic columns. As close as possible to the default layout. What do people think of that idea?
My thought is that it can be used with the panel: true-with-vertical-stack-trick to have a header and automatically order cards below it.

@mild veldt It would be an autoamtic number of columns based on the width - like the default layout. For a remote with a squareish layout, you'd be better off with nested vertical-stack and horizontal-stack.

@prime umbra I believe you have to change the icon in the Customization in HA. That's the way I got it to work.
They will then look like lights or whatever icon you choose throughout HA, but that's probably okay.

That group is on the main view, but it is also included in the Outdoors view.

@mild veldt Yeah, I'll try to define it a little bit better. The most typical usecase would be the rooms:
All lights in the kitchen are in the "Kitchen lights group". The lights in the livingroom are the "Livingroom lights group". And so on.
The groups are used in scripts and the same groups are used in views. It would be nice to use them in cards also without typing in all the entities again.
It works fine in the old UI, and it would be nice to find a way in Lovelace.

Is it possible to delay the startup of an add-on? I use deCONZ and Unifi add-ons, but the Unifi refuses to load at reboot as long as deCONZ is enabled. It seems to be due to some port sharing that Unifi add-on doesn't like. If I disable deCONZ, Unifi starts at reboot. And if I enable deCONZ it won't, but if I just wait a minute or so and start Unifi manually, it works fine.

how far along is the thermostat card? I have the custom card added and the .js files placed appropriately. The card appears and shows the current temp but I cannot change it through the card. Is this current expected behavior as it is still in "beta"? Or did I miss something. I am using the almost exactly the example code with the hvac section.

In the UI the graphs that are displayed are exatly the same (they seem to be the kitchen sensor's) and the names displayed in the Living Room tab are the friendly_name attributes (from customize.yaml) of
the sensors referenced in the Kitchen tab.

I've got a few custom cards that I have added that all work fine, today after being away for a couple of days I noticed the new candy fo canvas-gauge-card and thermostat-card. Having added them into my yaml file (including the resource statement) I get the same Custom element does not exist error for both. The js files exist in the correct location as all the others (copied from raw). I can't work out what I am doing wrong compared to the other 4 custom cards that work fine

on the subject of icons, i have started to create my own info card for the raspberry pi using the systemmonitor sensor. I can't get the icons in the card to change to match those set in the customization.yaml file. Its no biggy in the grand scheme of things. The icons show correctly in standard UI

I am not sure how group.all_lights acts in Lovelace entities card.
It definitely won’t show up as a group 😉
If anything, it will show as a single entity.

I just tried using one of my old groups on a card. It creates one entity with a new icon I haven’t seen before. A circle with three dots. The toggle is like a master switch (like the header toggle). But if I tap the icon, it brings up everything in that group in a pop up card.
Still serves some functionality.
@buoyant skiff I just tried with group.all_lights it didn’t split the entities. 🙁

@onkytonk Also, if you use groups in views today, don't miss the Lovelace migration tool. Then you don't need to put in all entities manually. Still no groups, but less writing

Just need to work out how to create my own dynamic groups now. So, if I add a new entity, the dynamic card can automatically identify which card to add it to.

@weak salmon If monster-card support attribute entities now, you should be able to assign any attribute you want via customize: and have it be recognized by Lovelace.

That’s just how I use to use groups. So it’d be nice. But I’m sure I just need to get used to using Lovelace and work out how I can get it to do what I want.

Only issue I’m seeing now, is that using a dynamic card, you have no control over the order. I think it’s alphabetical.
