My hue have been working solid, my trådfri not so much. The simplest was to just move them. I've also realized that I sort of like hues wake up lights and stuff like that. Harder to simulate on conbee.

I got a wired issue with HA and tasmota beta plugin. Sonoff dual running Tasmota 9.0.0.3 connected at first and now its showing as unavailable. I can see it connecting with my MQTT but tasmota beta shows unavailable.

Because ANY door can be forced open. Most residential doors locks aren’t the weakness, it is the frame. If you have a metal frame on your door, then maybe the lock is a concern.

I was pretty pissed at just how easily the deadbolt snapped when they broke in. the lack of damage to such a cheap door said it all. so I dove down the rabbit hole of finding out the differences in locks and they haven't changed how they are made and the class system at all so what was junk then, is junk now etc

So, I know this isn't one of the installation method channels, but I don't know which one to use. Last time I installed I used hass.io on a raspberry pi and it was a long time ago. Now I have a brand spanking shiny new PoE PI 4 (8gig) for use in our new house. Is it best to do a hass.io install again? or drop docker on a raspbian image and run it via containers (portainer) or something else?

one of the things I'd like to do outside of the hass ecosystem is run my intel neural compute stick off it too (it has a http bridge to take images from my blue iris install for the purposes of figuring out if I need a notification)

hehe well I have been enjoying the os, the fact that it's a supervised (not to be confused with supervised) dockererised platform has been nice (except where I had to manually unbork the container by deleting it all and letting it figure itself out) and dropping things (nodered) in has been really easy.
As for my level of masochism... I run and maintain a 16 year old (still reasonably up to date) gentoo installation on my main server 😄
