That Paul Hibbert was probably right about the fact that if there was no people willing to buy into those ecosystems and even jump through the hoops when they discontinue a product these devices we use from those ecosystems would likely cost a lot more and not be as many.

The problem was, there was stuff i just couldn't do on the "new" app that i could only do on the "classic" app

#

and maybe they've fixed that in the new new app they were coming out with when i made the switch to HA

#

but i also wanted to get away from the "cloud only" aspect of like.... 75% of the stuff i had connected to it, despite there being absolutely no need for stuff like my ceiling fan controller being "in the cloud" and unresponsive when my internet went out

Not sure which install you're using? If you have system_health enabled you can check Configuration -> Info, or see the following.

If you're using HassOS, flashed an image, or booted a VM with an image you're using #330990055533576204
If you installed Linux and then ran a script to install HA and have add-ons then you have #330944238910963714
If you're running docker commands or use a Docker manager and have no add-ons then you have #449717345808547842
Finally, if you use pip to install or upgrade you have #551864459891703809

my HA on Rpi runs perfectly fine, don't think a x86 machine would do better. in fact I tested it and the x86 machine was massively overloaded when e.g. transcoding streams

not sure where else to share this, but for those of you running Windows, i wrote a Powershell script that pops a little HomeAssistant icon in your system tray and lets you trigger automations by right-clicking on the icon. it dynamically pulls the list of automations when you run the script, so nothing ever needs updating on the script end.

Scripts for my Remote TAB

I updated to 0.115 last night and all was well. Fine this morning too. I then bound a volume to /media for my docker instance to get the new Media Browser working and restarted HA. I was then presented with a 'create new user' dialogue. I created a new user and now I have lost all old users and all my front end lovelace config! Any clues?

I dunno quad, they aren't usually pack hunters even tho they can for bigger game etc but the howling is usually because they caught something or looking for a mate, i guess they do it to corrdinate with others as well

Recently I finished my CI/CD pipeline for home assistant. Anyone else did something similar?

When I push to github from my latop, there is a build (2 jobs) that is started with travis to verify if everything is good. Then my home assistant server will pull the latest changes and restart the infra or home assistant depending on what changed.
If I push broken config, it will not redeploy.

meanwhile, I receive hangouts notifications to update me on what is going on

well, I have a "supervisor" asp net core server that listens for the github webhooks (using smee.io proxy, in another self made container). The supervisor will get latest changes from git and the will notify me of each build step and update steps through hangouts. And will verify what it needs to restart depending on what changed.

There are a few locations in california you should give it a try. assuming the menu isn't catered to west coast and is similar to what we get here. it's pretty close to what we usually make here lol

@green inlet usb boot is now officially supported for the pi, I believe it will still boot from sd if there is a bootable fat/ext partition on the sd but it should boot from usb if it cannot boot from the sd
