not really home assistant specific (I guess?) - so I'll ask in here... so I'm starting to get my head around various setups and one thing that's a bit confusing.... so if I have a Home Assistant setup and Homekit setup, AND a Hue bridge - all seem able to trigger various devices... is that "okay" or like is it best to rationalise everything into "one ecosystem" be it Home Assistant or Homekit

@hushed basalt I use Room Assistant in testing, right now, to determine home and room specific occupancy, that's the idea anyway. So I can possibly keep the kitchen light on better, longer, than just a motion sensor+timeout alone could do. So I can quickly determine that I've left the house already, in case the garage door re-opened or got left open, and it can close it.

Well it depends on the brand you are able to make and support therafter. I have seen many small bramds using quality products but they fizzle out either with finance running out, not marketing enough or be absorbed by bigger brands

The better bet will be to convince a local appliance seller and do a tie up with them. Most of the local known brands want a differentiation and able to sacrifice some batches with innovation as an experimentation.
