My four cameras cover pretty well around the house as well. I positioned it well.
I ran the wiring to basement where I have ubiquity PoE switch and NAS with another 18 port managed switch.
They are close proximity wise and hardwired into my network. No latency issues so far. The only latency is when I transcode rtsp to HLS for chromecasts

I think so. I do it the old fashioned way. There is a Docker image where it runs ffmpeg and converts rtsp to HTTP live streaming. I use that http url for chromecast
There is about 4 second delay/latency. If I see someone 10ft from the door, that means they are already at the door. Luckily my PIR sensor catches and runs the image processing. I still get to know who is out there before they come close to the door.

We have tested a little over 1800 people and have 59 positive... so doing pretty good so far. But like I said we just started getting community spread over the weekend so we will have to see how it goes.

It is pretty spread out... there are about 800,000 people in the state, 300,000 live in Anchorage (the 4th largest city by area in the world) , 150,000 live in Fairbanks and I think it is about 80,000 in Juneau. We have about 170,000 in the Mat-Su Burough where I live that is the size of Scotland. So pretty spread out.

With schools closed and social distancing applied we've gained very very few cases lately anywhere besides the capital area in Finland. The distances here between people are just so large. I'm thinking it might be similar for Alaska with the same measures applied

The schools here have been closed for almost 2 weeks now. And small business for about the same.
They were recommending no groups larger than 50 even before we had our first case in the state. Then after the first case it took about a week and a half before we got our second and our first 20 or so were all travel related so they brought it in from outside the state. So far all of the community spread has been in Anchorage or in small villages where they can't really self isolate because everything is so community driven.

yeah it sounds very similar. We had some cases here (city of 200k but spread out wide) that came from ski trips but since that almost nothing. I'm not sure what the plan is if the whole herd immunity thing doesn't happen.

We try to build accessibility into every feature we do at work, it's just tough to get right in some cases.

also, if you buy the inexpensive "blue light" blocking readers from amazon, store, etc they have applied a coating directly on the lenses, the ones I have are inside the lenses and it's not very noticeable like the others that clearly look kind of yellow
i dunno a lot about it though tbh, just know I personally feel that i benefit from them
