The complete path our water takes is 14feet up a pipe, about 20 feet horizontal into our pump, then about 15 feet of flex piping to our spigots...
Some gets diverted into a pressure tank, and some into the hot water tank...

There's a real cool "power station" near where I live called Turlough Hil. It's a "Pumped Storage" station which pumps water to an upper lake by night, and then lets it run down through turbines by day.
Every few years it's shut down for maintainence, and near the end of the maintainence they do tours.
It's really really really damn cool walking down where normally there's enough flowing water to generate over 200MW 🙂
