#

easy for the field guys and it works

clever mortar
#

I've used them for a few DIY projects - I'm never going back to any of the old methods ๐Ÿ™‚

#

Solid connections, easy to use

forest edge
#

push in wire connectors are nothing new, the older ones went out of phase because the copper that holds the wire in would either eventually break or not hold it strong enough and wires would come out

#

now the wegos are probably made diffrently but thats why push connectors never replaced wire nuts

sour escarp
#

i bet you anything it's cost

#

when you need to sell billions of units to turn a profit you have to convince people that there is a cost savings vs the way they have been doing it or eat shit even if your product might be slightly better

hushed basalt
#

If any mechanic used wire nuts on my car I would be finding a new mechanic

sour escarp
#

so one thing I noticed when I pulled one of my switch plates was several neutral wires ties together... i guess this is standard but I'm no electrician. the wegos seem to be somewhat limited when it comes to splicing > 4 wires

forest edge
#

well i'm refering to national code which has nothing to do with cost

sour escarp
#

@hushed basalt lol me too

forest edge
#

@hushed basalt yank your stereo

#

although you may not evven have wire nuts in au lol

clever mortar
#

Wire nuts are also not a thing you'd find in the UK - they're not technically banned AFAIK, just not used

forest edge
clever mortar
#

Yup

#

I can't see that the failure characteristics of that will be very different to the likes of the Wago

sour escarp
#

I spent a lot of time studying NEC and took test on it and there wasn't a single thing in there on splicing techniques, oddly enough

hushed basalt
#

Most automotive is open barrel crimp connectors in housings

forest edge
#

wegos have all but taken over europe these days i think

#

same here

#

generally you'd only see wire nuts around stereo wiring on a vehicle

sour escarp
#

yeah because wire nuts are not appropriate for mobile applications otherwise they would use them for that too ๐Ÿคฃ

#

i've seen ethernet cable wirenutted lol

forest edge
#

not from faactory, talking aftermarket

sour escarp
#

yeah factory is always molex

forest edge
#

factory is all snap connectors that cost like 5 bucks a piece to replace lol

sour escarp
#

yah special harnesses / molex connectors

#

there is a connector i use in mobile applications sometimes from a company called powerwerx

#

a really neat connector

hushed basalt
#

Repair and modification here in automotive I would guess would be almost exclusively self insulating closed barrel crimp connectors

#

Although shitty mechanics would use abomination of connectors. Or solder

sour escarp
#

so true

#

these are fun for hobbyist and can work for mobile

#

DC of course

hushed basalt
#

I've found powerpoles to be a PITA

sour escarp
#

lol

hushed basalt
#

The genderless nature is nice. But I find they slip out too easily

forest edge
#

as in to navigate around?

hushed basalt
#

Those are anderson powerpoles

sour escarp
#

yes

forest edge
#

oh i thought you mean like street light poles ect

sour escarp
#

and you're right, they do have issues too

#

i like them for ham radio though

forest edge
#

I like the snap waterproof ones you can buy off amazon for like 20 for 10 bucks

hushed basalt
#

Ham uses them a lot

sour escarp
#

i use for all my ham applications

hushed basalt
#

I like xlr connectors if it's under 10 amp

sour escarp
#

i have connectors that can handle up to 45amps

forest edge
#

yea 14 guage is all I evver get

hushed basalt
#

Snap connectors?

forest edge
#

yea

#

look like those

sour escarp
#

those look nice

forest edge
#

you can get just the connectors or ones with leads coming off on amazon for liek 20 for 10 bucks

sour escarp
#

how many connectors for 20 bux?

forest edge
#

picked up a bunch just this last summer rewiring a tractor

#

the ones i got only came in packs of 20 for 10

sour escarp
#

oh ok that's not bad

hushed basalt
#

They look good for automotive

#

I'd say using the right crimp and die would be important though

#

I can't see the size scale but I'm guessing max around 15 Amps?

sour escarp
#

i would guess the same

forest edge
#

for what?

sour escarp
#

maybe they make other sizes

forest edge
#

the connectors i linked?

#

amp rating is on size of wire

hushed basalt
#

Nooooooo

forest edge
#

no what?

hushed basalt
#

A connector is only designed for a certain amount of current going through it

forest edge
#

and they make a connctor for each size of wire.. whats your point? lol

#

it's not a one size fits all

#

like i said they make those with and without the pigtails already attached, you buy the guage of connector

sour escarp
#

@hushed basalt is just saying that particular connector is rated for a certain amperage, despite the wire size being connected although that matters too

forest edge
#

14 guage is pretty standard automobile size wire for the US

sour escarp
#

the one you pictured appears to be something like 18ga

forest edge
#

oh i dunno what that is size wise, saw the picture and they all look like that

#

shape, size.. the rubber waterproofing boot on mine are red not green

#

but other than that it looks like that

#

you just look up the guage of wire you want, like mine are 14

#

which is 20amp

hushed basalt
#

Ratings for cables are usually a factor on length

forest edge
#

yea like more than 40ft or something

hushed basalt
#

At 12/24v it matters a lot

forest edge
#

well just how much 12v current you need? lol

#

maybe not look at plastic connectors then lol

#

they make pure copper lugs lol

sour escarp
#

haha, you don't think current and amperage is more of an influence on the selection of wire than length?

hushed basalt
#

It's both

sour escarp
#

*mostly

forest edge
#

we're talking automotive right?

#

aside from the battery terminals.. wtf is your vehicle juicing?

hushed basalt
#

But just saying "I've got 16awg so I can run up to xA over it" isn't right

forest edge
#

90% of every vehicle made is 16-14 guage

sour escarp
#

no, that generally comes down to proper engineering

forest edge
#

sorry not 90%.. i meant to say 98%

hushed basalt
#

There's a difference between controlling a relay in the engine bay and running 80w of camping LEDs in the rear of the vehicle

forest edge
#

14 would handle the leds p

#

np

hushed basalt
#

Regrigerators and inverters are also massive aftermarket loads

sour escarp
#

doesn't matter the application, yes the length of wire matters a lot but the wire isn't generally designed for a certain length. i might only be able to pass a proper ethernet connection through CAT6 over 280-ish feet but I can use the same wire and pass 24v AC 600 feet without much loss

forest edge
#

14g is rated up to 20amp..

#

thats alot lol

hushed basalt
#

20x12 is only 240w

sour escarp
#

it's always about the assumed application

forest edge
#

well then you could always run romex if your concerned lol

sour escarp
#

i say assumed because in things like homes and vehicles, they are assuming a certain amount o;f power is going to be used when they wire it up and add breakers/fuses without knowing the potential of the application someone might be using, aka, real world applications

forest edge
#

I'm sure campers ect probably havve some thicker stuff for feeding appliances ect, but for your typical 4 banger car 98% of the wiring in the car is not bigger than 14g that much I can promise you

sour escarp
#

newer vehicles that offer AC ports and know that electrical demands are higher now will run larger ga to both AC and DC peripheral applications

forest edge
#

nope

#

it's still 14g

#

poull it and look

#

probably 16

#

actually

sour escarp
#

I ran some 50w ham radios off 12v using about 20+ amps off cigarette lighter plugs without getting hot

forest edge
#

most of it is likely 16g not 14g i just know 14g use to be pretty standard

sour escarp
#

i wonder what they are running for the inverters

#

i assume they have some kind of inverter for the AC stuff

forest edge
#

prob some cheap Chinese box screwed into the firewall behind the dash

#

my mothers car has a single ac 15amp outlet on the dash

sour escarp
#

don't think the big manufacturers want to be in the news for electrical fires

forest edge
#

never bothered to use it

#

well it won't be cheap for you to replace it

#

was only cheap for them to buy it

sour escarp
#

had one in my f150 that i used to charge my laptop all the time. just bought a tacoma that has one in the back but haven't tried yet

#

i could see using it to charge my drill

forest edge
#

like ac delco cd stereos, cd mechanism are so cheap and so known to fail after 10 years that that they actually created small business just to fix them lol

clear ferry
#

I have only ever seen one car with 220v integrated

forest edge
#

220v ๐Ÿคข

clear ferry
#

Was a Skoda Kodiaq if memory serves right

sour escarp
#

haha damn 220

#

you can weld on 220

forest edge
#

only saw one cause the other caught fire

clear ferry
#

Pff, it was a fully equipped cab @forest edge๐Ÿ˜›

#

So I could charge my laptop while taking a ride

forest edge
#

lol

#

truth be told I'm actually surprised outlets in vehicles weren't a standard in euro vehicles since the 80's lol

sour escarp
#

the electronics were too inefficient

forest edge
#

just seems like one of those things that part of the world would have deemed a must have lol

sour escarp
#

used too much power

forest edge
#

that or they thought the internet memes of seeing extensions cords running from people's vehicle sinto thier homes would be a bad look haha

clear ferry
#

We do that with car heaters since the 80s

forest edge
#

lol

sour escarp
#

didn't the guy who was an early engineer at apple invent the switching power supply? probably really expensive back then

forest edge
#

@clear ferry I could picture some of you chucking a space heater inside a car to keep it toasty while not in use rotf

sour escarp
#

lol

#

on the other side of that, ever seen a car with an evaporative cooler hooked to the window?

low harness
#

Most cars in Sweden have a mains outlet inside, but it's connected to power outside the car.

sour escarp
#

them little space heaters draw a fuckton of current, hope you guys have multiple batteries

#

i have a few of them and excessive use exceeds the cost of natural gas heating

low harness
#

For a space heater, and connected in parallell with heating elements in the engine block.

sour escarp
#

wait, how is that different than a standard car heater?

#

core, blower, engine heat... standard car heater right?

low harness
#

I guess?

low harness
#

Just don't see it as standard often.

sour escarp
#

i've never seen anything like that before

clear ferry
low harness
#

That's what I'm talking about.

sour escarp
#

maybe something you only see in extreme cold?

clear ferry
#

We have 9months of winter

sour escarp
#

ah ok

low harness
#

Yeah. It's awesome when it's -20 to get into a warm car that starts on the first attempt.

clear ferry
#

More modern cars have Webasto or eberspacher

sour escarp
#

we get like 2 months of winter and even that is generally in the 50-60s

#

maybe a few weeks where it goes below 40f

clear ferry
#

We get -30-40c

forest edge
#

those are electric element (like toaster wire) heaters you guys let run in your cars all night?

#

what is the fire rate? lmao

clear ferry
#

Never happened afaik

forest edge
#

they must be very low then

clear ferry
#

They are 800-2000w mostly

forest edge
#

like pumping out 40f air lol

#

well 2kw is not low

#

that would cause a decent fire lol

clear ferry

Yeah, never heard of that happening

#

Fires in general are rare in Norway

forest edge

that's crazy. noway would that ever be leagl here

engine block warmer, oil pan warmer sure.. but no heater in vvehicle

clear ferry

hushed basalt

majority must not be 2k watts then cause that's a fire hazard even in a home

hushed basalt

You put heaters in your car overnight?

forest edge
#

yea lol

clear ferry
#

The has been some cases of car fires the last few years, but they all were newer cars that were driving on the road, so guessing electric started

sour escarp
#

they are probably just enough current to keep the car from freezing into pieces

clear ferry
#

Most of the ones I find while doing a shopping search now are 1300-1600

hushed basalt

ocean mirage

hushed basalt

ocean mirage

hah

#

we've got two cars for the two of us, mine is currently unregistered though

hushed basalt
#

My friends have 7 cars between two people

ocean mirage
#

oh actually someone I work withs husband is like that

#

I don't get that mainly for the reason of like...you could have better cars if you had fewer

hushed basalt
#

Indeed

ocean mirage
#

I only need one car, maybe I would want another one if I liked offroading

hushed basalt
#

We have one car between two people

forest edge
#

city car and bush car? lol

hushed basalt
#

I'd like zero cars if transportation was better

#

Plus can't uber pool with a baby seat

ocean mirage
#

I have a pretty good bus service plus mine, I but to work when I go

#

I do like driving my car

hushed basalt
#

If someone brought out car pooling with TCO less than owning a car I'd happily never own a car again

forest edge
#

the only automotive type thing made in the au I like are the damn camper trailers. those things are made like beast

hushed basalt
#

We don't make much of anything

#

Especially big industry stuff

forest edge
#

you do make those offroad campers tho lol

hushed basalt
#

We just give away our resources and import labour

forest edge
#

lol

#

well you don't export your women.. i tried looking once ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

sour escarp
#

the idea of not owning a car seems crazy to me but some places it's not financially practical

#

like manhattan, ny where you have to pay a ridiculous amount of money just to have a parking spot

hushed basalt
#

Cars are expensive. A lot more expensive than people realise

sour escarp
#

i couldn't make money without one in vegas

hushed basalt
#

Even median places where houses are $1m

#

Think about how much real estate is devoted to garage and driveway

#

Plus capital costs

#

Then think of all that cost of land and capital tacked onto a 30 year mortgage

sour escarp
#

you can own a vehicle really cheap out here and park it on the street

forest edge
#

yea vehicles here don't have to be expensive at all

#

hell i got a spare just sitting on a pad out back that hasn't been started in like a year

sour escarp
#

i do have a two car garage but my mortgage is incredibly cheap and wont go up for 30 years

hushed basalt
#

Plus registration, insurance, maintenance, repairs,

forest edge
#

and another parked in a barn that hasn't been started in like 15 years lol

hushed basalt
#

Like 95% of our population lives on small blocks nowadays

sour escarp
#

just all depends where you live, our public transportation is unreliable and slow

hushed basalt
#

Or they're sitting on older blocks which have gone up 20 times in price in 30 years

#

Ours is shit too

#

But it's still a huge cost, whether or not it's mandatory

sour escarp
#

worth it for the freedom to go where you want, when you want and spontaneously even

forest edge
#

you guys just recently got flooded with a crap ton of immigrants too right? I think that's been going on for while..

hushed basalt
#

Quite a while

ocean mirage
#

depends on your definition of flooded

hushed basalt
#

Big business loves immigration

#

We are wayyyy above historical levels

forest edge
#

yea i think that has had negative impact on your economy over the years

#

there is like a magic number

clear ferry
#

Immigration is positive for our economy

forest edge
#

between when it's beneficial and when it's hurtful

clear ferry
#

We get a bigger work force that pays more tax

hushed basalt
ocean mirage
#

yeah but like

#

fuck the economy

hushed basalt
#

Most of our immigration is unskilled labour to depress wages

#

The long and the short of it

forest edge
#

send them to norway

#

lol

hushed basalt
#

Norway doesn't have a big unskilled migration intake does it?

forest edge
#

I don't think norway folk give a shit lol

clear ferry
#

We take anyone ๐Ÿคท

forest edge
#

see

#

lmao

#

although lets be real.. who the hell migrates to the freezing cold?

sour escarp
#

there is a large costs to taking in immigrants as well, there is no net positive

#

and the people that suffer the most are naturals that use to be the unskilled labor

hushed basalt
#

Those costs are born by society

#

Yet big business reaps the profits

ocean mirage
#

what costs do you mean

forest edge
#

does NZ get flooded too or did they cap that off?

hushed basalt
#

Infrastructure costs for starters

#

Medical

sour escarp
#

well, in the US at least a large part of the costs is in healthcare

hushed basalt
#

But the wage suppression is the key negative

#

Countries subscribed to reaganomics have a literal government level mandate to supress and deflate wages. Not just restrict growth, but to reduce total.

#

As in it's not a "whoops we didn't do too well at the economy". It's an actual goal at policy level.

ocean mirage
#

I'm not surprised

#

Corruption fuelled by capitalism is like...most of what happens

sour escarp
#

easier to get the immigrants to vote for you, all they care about is protecting their own job and existence

hushed basalt
#

It's a similar thing to the trickle down

sour escarp
#

corruption is fueled by people that run countries who know nothing about economics

hushed basalt
#

Sold as a "benefit" but was always a con

sour escarp
#

like career politicians

hushed basalt
#

Sadly I think they know the economy very well

#

It's performing exactly as intended

sour escarp
#

you give too much credit

ocean mirage
#

Yeah they are looking after themselves pretty damn well

hushed basalt
#

Our loss is someone elses gain

sour escarp
#

markets are not predictable, even by those at the top, they have influence but not control

#

the influence is huge but it's not definitive

hushed basalt
#

The people at the very top are above the economy anyways

#

Money is for the rest of us.

sour escarp
#

the unfortunate thing is the political world is an exclusive club, left, right, middle, sideways, upside down, whatever your position, these people are all part of an exclusive club, are typically groomed for their positions and I can assure you they are not a great representation of real people yet they dictate decisions in our lives

#

anyway, that is all for now heh

forest edge
#

move to alaska, buy a large plot of land and build a cabin and just forget about evverything else lol

ocean mirage
#

alaska be cold

forest edge
#

well till global warming changes everything and you get more and more neighbors lol

sour escarp
#

yeah, fuck that

forest edge
#

hell we may all be flocking to norway within the next 20 years lol

forest edge

was like 32% or something weird

sour escarp

i wouldn't know if that statistic isn't normal

forest edge
#

it's not normal, it's an actual country emergency

#

they even put forth goverment funded groups to try and rectify it

sour escarp

ok bed time, night

forest edge
#

I think 30 is a concern, but would be happy if we suffered a 20 and younger crises like that here in the states lol

#

l8tr

ocean mirage

Are they concerned because population reasons or because they donโ€™t want to be a bunch of virgins

#

Also why would that make you happy

hushed basalt

I think Japan is below replacement levels

#

I personally don't subscribe to the economic theory that populations need to increase though

#

Doesn't pass the sniff test to me

ocean mirage
#

We have the resources to care for older people regardless, but think about the profits!

hushed basalt

I just think the two are completely unrelated

#

But it's one of many excuses to distort the economy to benefit the top

population issues is the concern. and it would make me happy cause we could do with less pre 20's couples having children and ending up on welfare

Hello all. I recently had great success automating my church's HVAC system with Hassio, and now I want to start working on my own home. I have a Honeywell thermostat with white, yellow, green, and red wires (I'm hoping these follow some standard). I believe it would be compatible with, say, a Nest, but Nest's prices are highway robbery. Is there a good project for replacing such a thermostat with an Ardruino-based chip that connects to Hassio? For integrating our Mitsubishi units, there was a firmware project that worked out-of-the-box with OTA updates, web-based configuration, etc. - it would be awesome to find a similar, ready-made firmware for a home thermostat. Any ideas?

autumn tartan
#

@flint spear you can start by posting on the โ€œshare your projectsโ€ section of the hass forum...

flint spear
#

@autumn tartan Thanks, thats what I figured after reading some of the threads, although some similar threads also could be found in Uncategorised.

@brisk glen Seemingly it's legit, but I tend to distrust Indiegogo,. They don't verify projects before they go live.

i'm not sure how adding this to your printer makes it a "smart printer" lol

#

also... you can get a wi-fi smart plug for cheaper if you want your dumb coffeemaker to be a "smart coffeemaker"

My espresso machine doesn't turn on from just turning on the outlet

scenic radish
#

fair point, what i said only applies to those with mechanical instead of electronic controls

honest geode

For that, I agree ๐Ÿ™‚

scenic radish
#

however... would you want this giant wart on the front of your coffeemaker? lol

honest geode
#

Absolutely.. not

Yes

Yes I would

Like what?

orchid rose

a button that turns it on

scenic radish

just pay someone to flip it on and off

next question

jagged mantle

Relay?

orchid rose
#

or rather it needs to be a stepper motor or something

#

that would require me to modify it a bit too much myself. I did look into it

#

it's a three phase system so it's outside of my comfort zone

honest geode
#

A simple servo from an RC car is more than sufficient

#

No need for it to be a stepper motor, that's like shooting birds with cannons (which can be fun, but they tend to splatter)

orchid rose
#

true

#

But the bigger problem was trying to keep it as safe as possible. I thought it might not be the greatest idea insurance wise

#

something that I could quickly put on it than runs on a battery would be optimal, but just not really that easy to do DIY

it's absolute trash that my bank will only let me activate a new card over the phone, and then their system wouldn't take the expiration date and locked me out after 3 tries, I do not want to talk to a person and if I do, I'm going to ream them inside out for this BS.

clear ferry
#

Lol, I have never activated a card over phone, did it via internet since.... 2001

#

Before that it was just in bank

#

But since 2011 it has been activated before it arrived in my mailbox

rain swift
#

that seems like a dumb idea if someone gets your card in the mail, but having to do it over the phone is ridiculous.

clear ferry
#

Never happened, and I order a new card every 1-2 years

#

And I have 4 cards total that I replace that often

#

And I get an SMS whenever any of my credit cards get used, my debit one whenever the value is above $100 ๐Ÿคท

forest edge
#

never understood the point of having multiple credit cards

#

I have one cc with a very large limit lol

clever mortar

One for me, one for us, one for work...

I have 1 personal, one work, and two debit ones, one shares and one personal

forest edge

work cc dosen't count

clear ferry
#

Why not?

clever mortar
#

Oh, I've got an actual work one too, but that doesn't give me points ๐Ÿ˜‰

forest edge
#

cause thats work, not you

clear ferry
#

It still gets delivered in my mailbox, fully activated ๐Ÿ˜›

#

Which was the discussion we were having

forest edge
#

yea but that isn't what I'm talking about. work dosen't count lol

scenic radish
#

No joke, I have a $50,000 credit limit on one of my cards lmao

#

That is...almost my yearly salary

#

Why you ask? I just kept asking for increases every few months until it turned into a game

#

...to see how high I could get it

Multiple lines of credit can help your scores in America

clear ferry
#

Yeah, that shit makes no sense to us in the eu

steel urchin
#

But if you don't get points, change cards! I copped just under 3k in Amazon cards for then event move, was awesome

forest edge

too man can also harm your credit

steel urchin

Keeps your debt utilization low

clear ferry

The only thing that increases our scores is no missed payments, good income, only thing that hurts it is too much loans compared to income

And yeah it can definitely screw you up

#

We also consider utilities and build like cell

I usually change CC's at least once a year. I have one that I keep then another I'll cancel and switch to another. It's often worth doing depending on sign up bonus. Annual fee's etc.

brisk glen
#

and usually piss poor for credit

clear ferry
#

I have no annual fees for any debit or credit cards ThonkEyes

#

Never had

clear cairn
#

It depends my credit rating stays pretty high and stable. My CC's intentionally have low limits though so I'm not that much of a risk.

brisk glen
#

@clear ferry you also bring in like 20k a month

clear ferry
#

I wish ๐Ÿ˜›

#

But even when I was a student I never had fees ๐Ÿคท

clear cairn
#

I work them out based on net benefit. I'm fine with paying a fee if the benefits I gain are of more value than the fee.

forest edge
#

@clear cairn canceling credit cards can also hurt you

#

infact they say if you end up with one it's best to just stick in a drawer and forget about it

clear cairn
#

It definitely can if you're not careful.

clear ferry
#

No credit cards have any benefits I can't get in other ways or are worth it for me ๐Ÿ˜›

clear cairn
#

I'm also in Canada so it's calculated slightly different than the US. Pretty similar though.

forest edge
#

I just use my bank CC cause I don't give two shits but the woman's discover card has been stupid nice over the years with the gift card redeems. bought so much shit free using those over the years it's insane

One thing I have found is the security of some banks is concerning. I found out the other day one of my banks requires a password contain upper and lower case but when you sign in the password isn't case sensitive.

@brisk glen there's a youtube channel of some small repair shop guy in NY i think that deals with apple products. should watch it cause he really goes into depth trying to fix those turds and points out the great lengths apple has gone to try and intentionally prevent users from being able to repair thier shit.

#

they just recently tried to pass a law of right to repair or something

#

buit i think it failed

brisk glen
#

@forest edge the apple laptop I have is the most reparable apple laptop there is

#

I just need to give in and buy the keyboard replacement and get to it

Unrelated to HA - if I have plex media server running locally, and I am watching a movie on a TV with the Plex app (with the movie being on an hdd attached to the server).. does that take my internet upload speed into account? Since it's technically being streamed from my media server

clever mortar
#

No

#

If you're local, you're local

#

That is covered in Plex's own docs ๐Ÿ˜‰

molten needle
#

Ok gotchya. I'm just getting really crappy quality

clever mortar
#

Their forums are usually pretty good at helping track down causes, but transcoding is usually the cause (if the original isn't crappy)

rain swift
#

@forest edge did you really get stuff for free, businesses aren't in business to give anything away.

molten needle
#

Would normally the device with the app handle the transcoding?

#

Like a smart tv for example

clever mortar
#

Transcoding is always done on the server

molten needle
#

ok

clever mortar

Whether transcoding happens depends on both the server and the client

molten needle

clear ferry

Also, it could be going over the internet

forest edge
#

@rain swift free as in you convert points for gift cards

#

but with discover you get like 2-3x more in a gift card then you would if you redeeemed like cash ect

clear ferry
#

Or, atleast it will hit your NAT loopback, if you tell it to go to the public IP I believe

#

My lg Plex TV app asked me if I wanted to use 192.168 or 84.86 first time I started it
