Hey guys, wondering if I can pick your brains 🧠. My friend has a baby who has choking fits through the night and can be scary, especially for his wife. He's said that by monitoring the baby's heart rate and oxygen level would help pre-empt these episodes. I told him about setting up a baby camera with a pi and webcam which worked pretty well. He's found a special sock monitor but it's £300 and can't afford it now. He mentioned special mats but if the baby rolls off, it can't register that.

I remember reading a few months ago that some parents had a child with severe, life-threatening illness where they'd have to restart their child's heart through the night which was draining for them but with a bit of DIY, they managed to get a system to help it's made a massive improvement. Any of that ring any bells? If not any ideas? I saw it's possible to get heartrate from camera but that would have to depend on the baby's face in view of the camera. Ideally non-contact would be great.
