TBH either is probably fine; I developed a preference for Schlage after kwikset had some security issues with some of their lines.

The reason I use Schlage now is just because all my locks are schlage and I can rekey the new locks so we use one key for the whole house.

The truth about locks is they all use a key and a burglar probably isn't going to rob you based on your door lock, they make a holistic decision based on multiple factors about your home.

By cost though, my opinion is the best security feature of a house is an overt camera system.

I got obsessed with burglaries for a while and that seemed to be a common thread from people interviewed; they didn't like burglaring regular looking houses with camera systems.
