#Help with "Audio bug"

Before the last update, any time our server reached over ~44 players, the voice audio for players started to break. Random people could no longer hear other random people.
Now with the new update we run into this issue even at our previous safe 40 player count.

I can't find anything official about this issue. I have heard that this has and is still also affecting other communities, especially RP ones where very big groups of players tend to be together more often.

Is there way around this? Any known reason what causes this? Any plans to fix this?
We always wanted to have larger roleplay sessions but never could because of this, and now its getting even worse.

The voice chat bug strikes again

If this is not our fault then, then NW needs to adress this
Big servers, especially roleplay, cant live like this

i dont think its your fault

its just how the dog walks

I wonder if bug is server side or client side…

I have also faced the problem in our roleplay server (and others too). ProjectMER and AMertools are common element. People cannot be heard if they are using voice chat while using teleports. Teleporting back fixes the deaf voice chat. While debugging, I found out problem is more complex, some people can be heard, some cannot hear others. **People with VC binded to mouse button seems to be immune to this glitch. **

#

Another observation:

  • People who were "close" to you when you gained the class (e.g. spawned for scientist) will not be affected by your voice chat disruption when you teleport.

People teleporting together, one by one. Using "q" VC button while teleporting = you cannot be heard by some people. Some still can hear you.

#

Those who can hear you were close when you spawned on map. - this is still under investigation, not 100% sure of that.

#

This is so complicated, it might be a good idea to reproduce it together @crimson stirrup

#

I can show you the problem live on our server if you have time.

i'd prefer if you could attach a video
i can see a voice chat bug report on gitlab, but it doesn't have much information

#

consider uploading the video as an attachment in a bug report

#

also, for this to be considered a base-game issue, it must be reproducible on a vanilla server

how many players does this start from if you know?

#

I have experienced this glitch with 15 people on the server

#

15+

#

I would like to recommend debugging the tp command or "bring player" command

#

also, it might be connected to default voice chat button.

#

According to feedback from one of our community members, changing the VC button to a mouse button appears to resolve the issue.

Yes Nightmare i know

#

Ive seen so many people complain about this bug why do i need to be the one to make a bug report 😭

Site-12 has a single server atm which is modded
To give NW valid information about this bug we need to reproduce it on an unmodded server so they dont just push the issue on any of our modifications. But we dont have the time or players to do this kind of test.

If anyone else reads this and has such capabilities, please make reproduce it with a recording and log files and whatnot and then make a bug report #bug-reporting x.x
