I don't know how to update the server to use LabAPI

in steam, switch to the labapi-beta branch. same process you would of used to switch to the 14.0 beta for example.

note that the client also has to be on the labapi-beta branch too if you need to join the server

no, you can just delete and redownload stuff if steam is refusing to change
