I've worked with white backgrounds, I've worked with darker backgrounds, I prefer nothing. I also prefer it to transparency. You can't just lecture somebody about their personal preferences and expect them to immediately follow you because if they don't they aren't 'open minded'.

This isn't the best example I have but here you can see I used much brighter more vibrant colors to depict the subject, drawing it more attention, highlighting it.

Simply: avoid using super dark colors when possible, not only is it hard to determine what it is sometimes. But it can also actually make it nearly impossible to see on some screens.

Here is the character's in-game appearance of the model I posted in #art-showcase for reference.
Not my drawing but from Lobotomy Corp.

There is a few design differences in the model but that's because I went based off a slightly updated design of the character from the sequel.

Overall, I'm pretty damn proud of the model, it's my first time legitimately fully texturing something like this instead of using just solid colors.
