I want to ask how I can improve my concept art of Dwaino. For a basic idea of what the character should look like, I like what I have, but I want him to be more detailed. I want every part of him and his gear to be unique.
have you ever heard/watched a movie called Treasure Planet? (if you didn't its a great source of inspiration cause its about space pirates)
A good tip to improvement for concept art is to begin with a silhouette of the design, so you can carve out distinct shapes and features, like how Valve created TF2 characters. When you start to flesh out features, include dramatic posing that implies the character's personality with body language and facial expression. also the concept designs for treasure planet is amazing i recommend you check some of it out

Basic plot? Majority of the galaxy is under rule by aristocratic tyrants of The Great Forge. The pirates work with refugees to protect hidden colonies from dangers in the void
Shoot, loot, and fend off the Forge and the Undead
Is there any particular endpoint?
You will gain materials via pirating and equip various gear modifications for your person and ship. There will probably be a storyline you can follow, but the focus will be a rewarding progression system that lets you unlock new gear and ships along with different modification and cosmetic choices.
The storyline will probably consist of a few side quests and invasion waves
The colony, which is a main hub for the players, is attacked every so often by one of the two threats
the colony is a large asteroid colony turned into a massive interstellar ship
and depending on how long keep the colony in a location, invasions will occur
for the concept art, when you put details put most of it into the area of focus & only put details that are essential to what you are trying to convey. Kinda like this illustration where they focus mainly on the face and his hand
if you don't move the colony, the invasions will get harder with waves
until you get to the boss wave
which is a risk/reward kind of thing I have in mind
because you get good loot from invaders
You have to find/loot fuel for the colony in order to move it also
The only problem I have with the idea is I need to work out if this will be like a MMO or something smaller
4 player co-op is too small, because I want there to be large ships with various interactive elements such as turrets for crew members

In most cases the reason Commercial Programs like ZBrush and Cinema4D are so large is because the programmers jam them full of features, whereas Blender, an Open source program generally clean up / optimise features constantly, or even just straight up remove them
Commercial programmers don't really need to worry about someone else viewing the code, so long as it works, it works
zbrush stores every single iteration of the model on your scratch disk
so you have infinite Ctrl+Z
and the models usually go into the dozen million poly ranges

thats the thing with undos in zbrush, since they're put in your hard drive you can close out of the file, come back and still have your whole timeline saved

which can be a little annoying in the event Blender crashes
though you can use backup files and sort of splice together the changes if needed

I hadn't liked how i originally drew 682, and I know he has rotted flesh because of the acid bath but I haven't attempted to draw that part out yet.

well i don't know, seeing that you were making a proto completely based on crypto mining i thought maybe you would use a real GPU since that's what crypto mining is all about but it's your art anyways so I can't say anything against that
