Nothing worse than driving a great race and then crashing into a wrong-wayer. Wrong wayers are fine in a no-rules lobby, but in a lobby that has rules they can be super annoying and can ruin a race. I suggest that if wrong way limiting is 'enabled' not only should it limit the max speed for going the wrong way as it does now, but it would be great if we also had an auto-kick option for this lost soul after x # of seconds of wrong-waying to make it truly effective. this will be very helpful in a lobby that does not have moderators on at that moment, and also with mods on, as the wrong-wayers can be missed for a good part of the race.
#wrong way limiter that auto-kicks wrong-wayer after x seconds

Or just ghost mode them until they return to the part of the track they abandoned and get up to speed
that'll work too - that prevents them from being a nuisance. my original thought stems from: if they are intentionally being a nuisance, why let them stay in the lobby if they are just there to break rules?
I agree with that too. Should be a warning first though if it’s an automated feature. 3 times reversing you’re out.
It could happen on accident or maybe people won’t know right away if they are in a server where that feature is enabled. Could pop up a warning on the screen when they do it each time.
I typically play on chaos servers but I do like clean racing as well so I get having this as an option.
yes, sounds good. thanks
and one solution for wrong-way-auto-kick would be a countdown timer on wrong-wayers screen plus a message along the line of, "Turn around in x seconds or you will be kicked out of lobby".
Not everyone is the wrong player, some people accidentally crash. I think it is necessary to add a penalty system specifically for clean servers (cutting corners, crash), it can be turned on/off optionally by the lobby creator.
Disqualification after 3 yellow flags.
In the meantime, try to avoid an crash. Because even in professional racing, there are a lot of crashes.
crashes happen often, especially in a wrecking game. and we all have been turned around pointing the wrong direction. that's when reset is best option.
i still think that we shouldent change wreckfest in to a sim racer
there should be some other solution then just getting banned
otherwise the allready small player base will shrink even more
not saying they should be auto-banned - I'm saying auto-kick. There are plenty of lobbies that are 'no rules' so this idea would not even apply to them. This would apply to lobbies that have a no-wrongway rule.
ok that makes more sense
Then there should be permanently clean servers. Safety rating statistics will be calculated there (only there, not for others). A beginner has an average safety rating, the rating varies depending on his actions. If the rating has dropped below the critical line, it is not allowed on such servers.
there will be clean servers so long as you have hosts that want a clean-only lobby and racers who race there. to me it kind of goes counter-intuitive to the whole 'wrecking' thing, but to each their own. that's the beauty of the lobbies.
Oh, my dreams of turning Wrekfest into an esports discipline probably won't come true... Not fate
might be quicker to shovel sand into the sea 😅
are you realy trying to turn this game into a sim racer with no contact
that defets the hole point
why dont you just go play grand torismo
No, I'm actually a fan of Flatout 2
Gran Turismo - my love, you can't imagine how much I want to combine Wreckfest and GT7 👀
No one is trying to turn it into a sim racer, would just be nice to have sim racing elements while keeping the aspect of the game the same. That's all. (Also Gran Turismo feels nothing like Wreckfest so I wouldn't want to play that if I want the Wreckfest car feel in a clean race)
To hell with clean racing. Just add more American land yachts, and let me smash them to smithereens. 😅
How do you differentiate between driving the wrong way and people driving the right way at 5mph?
My point being people will always find a workaround in order to crash, because a lot of people bought the game to do so. Unless you added something like a ghost cars only mode.
Rating etc would be the same, people would brake check you so you hit them and lose rating etc etc
How do you differentiate between driving the wrong way and people driving the right way at 5mph?
"Wrong way" is driving against the direction of the race and trying to head-on crash into everyone else.
"right way 5mph" - is driving in the correct direction of the race. sometimes one's car becomes damaged to the point that is all you can muster. this is fine, it happens. if someone at the start of the race is not attempting to drive with others and wants to drive 5 mph, they are just clogging up the grid and in my lobbies that's not cool. we're here to race n wreck.
I dont think limiting it even further will stop it. People will just use a different tactics to achieve the same result. Sit and block the track, or drive the right way slowly etc etc.
The speed limiter is good though as it makes driving the wrong way useless already
oh i think having an auto-kicking wrong-way option would definitely be a limiter - but just for wrong-way driving which is an issue.
Sitting and blocking the track - 'blocking', slowing down for others - 'camping', we have rules against these and can only be enforced thru moderation.
for no-rules lobbies it wouldn't matter as they are a free-for-all and drivers who like to do these things are best racing there
Im sure if you had autokick for wrong way people would stop doing that specifically, and just do something else. Achieving the same result whilst avoiding auto moderation.
manual moderation is the best solution imo
oh yes, i see what you are saying. yes, they would have to be kicked by moderators. it's just wrong wayers are of the worst and can ruin a good race quickly so this 'auto-moderation' tool would just be extra ammo against them
and also extra helpful if no moderators are in the lobby
It’s a good idea and should be implemented, bare minimum turn them ghost if they are stopped or going backwards. Maybe the devs like going backwards…is why it wasn’t fixed in wf1.
