These are some great points id love to see implemented in the near future

Most of these points are absolutely horrible suggestions: no reset timer, catch up mechanic, short cuts, rubberbanding... I think you should look into Mario Kart.

there is a reason the first game died at birth mr lime

The issue with the game is that if you get unlucky and get hit early in the game you are better off leaving than actually sitting the race out. This was a problem in the first game as well. I think they have to do something to make the game more engaging and group the cars closer together than the feeling that you are racing alone

Well thought out points, I agree wholly!

First, the vast majority of casuals don't play in open lobbies, they play single-player or private multiplayer with friends.
Second, the first game did well enough that they made a sequel relatively quickly. Don't know how a game that's dead on arrival would merit a sequel.
Third, dumbing down core aspects of the game to appeal to potential casuals at the expense of loyal, committed players is never a good business move. If people want to play a casual arcade racer, there are plenty out there. Wreckfest is a simcade with a commitment to reasonably realistic physics that rewards good driving ability. Most people who play it do so specifically for those qualities.

Finally, there already is a comeback mechanic. At any given point, half the grid could explode in a pileup and lose 10 seconds or more. I have never played another racing game where I feel as confident about gaining 10+ places as I do playing Wreckfest. If you fall behind (which is the driver's fault at least 50% of the time so I don't know why they should be rewarded for it), just drive well, and safely, and you'll be back in the mix within a lap or two. No need for gimmicks or silliness, it's all baked in already

Since I left a thumbs down, i'll give some feedback to your feedback.

-If you are getting DNFed early.. well, gg go next. Its a risk you take running in the pack and out front to getting cornerbombed, run into backwards (By servers with no reverse limiter) and anything else. While the back of the pack isnt the most fun, sometimes its the safest.. and sometimes not.

-Car Destruction really depends on what happens. Most races where no big contact happens aside from some walls and taps to other cars you usually wont see much happening. Sometimes you'll do larger contact to the wall, normally with like the front end and it might crunch a bit much. However if you're getting slammed into the wall, your car should visually reflect that.

-While in automatic I think binding a button to reverse still sends it to reverse immediately. Unsure of this since I never run auto

-I skipped on some others since they kind of repeated this catch up mechanic. No... just no. If people are far out ahead of the pack then thats their reward for avoiding chaos or just being that good. If you get hit early and fall back, just hope other cars run into that same issue. And if not.. well as I said before, gg go next. Along with that anything like those, especially a rubberband mechanic, would make leaderboards impossible to try solo.

-"Play to win upgrades were terrible." My brother.. it did not take long to get credits to upgrade your cars. You could have one car thats not too bad within a few hours of playing the game and in many servers do just fine.

Also going to added in a comment to some of yours. The first game "Did not die at birth." Just because it doesnt have thousands of players doesn't mean the game died. In fact the WF community is some of the most die hard and dedicated players i've ever seen. Any night, probably even right now, I could hop on and play in a Poop Sock server and probably wait in a queue. Also calling the fanbase.. that. Yeah.. if you don't want to return..bye
