if it also opened steamvr it would just make it more laggy 🤔 what are your pc specs?

Oculus link needs the oculus app open. If you want just steamvr you need to use virtual desktop

I would recommend setting the oculus app as your default openXR runtime in its settings and opening grab through it and not steamvr as then it won’t run the steamVR runtime and will run much smoother (at least it does for me)
