When you respawn in Prisoners' Quarters after beating your first run, you are greeted with the following information:
- How to detach your head (via newly unlocked Homunculus rune, assuming your first win was against HotK)
- Bank is unlocked and can now appear
- Boss rush is unlocked
- The Giant has left his usual spot near your spawnpoint and gone through the large door
- Residual cells bag is left on the platform near where you spawn
This is a lot for a player to take in, dare I say too much. A few of these things could be dispersed elsewhere, or removed entirely. I would suggest the following changes to tone down the information overload that happens during this part of the game:
- Remove the Bank notification entirely. It spawns every run in a very obvious way, so the player is bound to encounter it naturally regardless, and enter it from curiosity. Most things in this game aren't explained to you prior to seeing them, and that system works well at provoking curiousity from the player.
- Change the Boss Rush notification to be something other than a popup. Perhaps you could just have the statue-maker Guillian stand outside the door in the main hub that leads to Boss Rush/Training Room/tailor/Daily Challenge until the player enters Boss Rush -- but something less immediate and less intrusive would improve the introduction of Boss Rush a lot.
You could also make it so that, similar to the Daily Challenge, beating a run for the first time causes whichever final boss you beat to drop a 'Boss Rush rune' that unlocks the mode, effectively notifying the player PRIOR to them respawning in the next run.
