—this is on ibis paint x and i mostly used the fade watercolor brushes + dip pen and erased with the dip pen and any airbrush
for the pink highlights i used the add blending mode and did some highlights with the water color brush and then erased with the hard dip pen for some hard edges (idk if this makes sense)

for the lil hair strands i drew random lines with different shades not on a clipping mask and hoped it didn’t look like shit 😭

i switched to paint tool sai because csp is so slow it makes me angry Why does csp basically freeze up for a solid minute and a half when using a big textured brush . bro i have 32gb of ram and a 7800x3d there is no reason for you to be lagging like that. what more do you want. 💀 also i prefer sai’s brush engine and stabilizers 😭

Reasons I don't like hazbin: Heavily rushed, character arcs made no sense along with the plot in general, the palette, some of the questionable members on the team, hiring famous voice actors and discarding the actors in the pilot
Reasons why I don't like helluva: Story was pretty good in season one but turned into a fanfic in season 2, plot makes no sense sometimes, makes serious villains into a joke, makes stolas look like a good guy but in reality he's such a bad father

me three though there's a lot more that goes into color design - contrast with background, contrast with itself, value and saturation, etc. i am a filthy weakling for black and red
designs like alastor have bad contrast with badly placed colors, he has like 5 different reds when it could have been kept concise with 1-2
You want design elements to be Purposeful and a problem with hazbin designs is that they have way too much pointless shapes and patterns and stuff that does nothing to help the design or communicate much about the character. Especially bad for animation too
