I was thinking relatively small, to spread throughout the house as needed

Yay thread, I keep forgetting about these XD

Ok, yeah, a screen would probably be too much for a tiny board [unless it was one of those teeny tiny OLED panels?], so maybe a row of LEDs for status. RGB LEDs would give you the most capability in a given space

My main purpose was to be able to connect back to adafruit IO. If space permits would like to expose any unused pins too so easy expansion

Gotcha. I'd add a couple status lights at least, so the user can give themselves some feedback outside of if the code is running or not. I'd like at least one button outside of reset/bootloader for quick interactions. In terms of sensors, a light sensor would be good, but I think a temp sensor needs a bit of space [unless this board will generate little to no heat] to be useful -- I was playing with temp on my FunHouse, and it was often several degrees above ambient when nothing was really happening

Yeah I had the same with the temp. I was thinking to keep the board minimal and then StemmaQT what you want on to it.

A button is a great idea too. Was debating if the cost/complexity of lipo charging is worth it. May just give you the option of USB or battery

LiPo would be great, it could use the little ones that the PyGamer uses

yeah not sure if on board charging is worth it. Thanks though gives me some ideas on this stuff from someone else who wants a similar board
