Hello I would like to make for myself a smart Irrigation sistem for my tomatoes that is connected to an AI assistent to gather information online about the weather and conditions and with sensor from the soil, since i haven't work with electronics for some years i would like to know what hardware should i buy and where i can learn what i need

I did a similar project a while back. I used two raspberry pi pico W, one as the irrigation unit and the other as a server connected via lorawan. the server handled internet signals, while the irrigation side controlled watering. motors needed higher voltage, so I ran them off an outlet, with the rest on battery. I didn’t have an electronics background either, just programming.
